Enid: [even if you fuck me all vanilla in] by Richard Scott

I picked up Soho by Richard Scott at Gay’s The Word bookshop in London, and fell in love immediately. I don’t read a lot of poetry by men, but I’m really glad that I took a chance on this.

The collection deals with male violence, trauma, homophobia in society, our history and inheritance as LGBT people, It also addresses love and sex and desire and pain and rough, horny, dirty fucking. It’s the spirit of those iconic tweets by George Michael about gay sex, but transfigured into punch, skillful poetry.

Fuck respectability politics. We’re here, we’re queer, get used to it.

It’s absolutely essential, buy it here.
